Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie follows the lives of a family of three—Amanda, a domineering mother, and her two adult children, Tom and Laura—as they struggle to find their place in a world that is changing around them. Set in St. Louis during the 1930s, the play explores memory, fragility, and the tension between reality and illusion, as each character withdraws into their own form of escape to cope with disappointment and lost dreams.

For this study, I developed the scenographic and costume proposal, along with the staging approach that supports it. The project was designed for the Neos Kosmos Theatre, where I carried out the on-site measurements, photographic documentation, and spatial drawings before shaping the concept. The set and costume design process began through artistic research on the play’s themes and the inner worlds of its characters. The outcome of this research took form in the stage model and the costume maquettes. Part of the costume research also involved selecting a specific fragrance for each character, adding a sensory dimension to the proposal.
