This project explores the design of a public space element embedded in the spatial and cultural context of the Kerameikos district in Athens, an area shaped by its industrial past, vibrant street art, and an evolving social landscape.
The proposal introduces a sculptural seating element that activates an underused public space and encourages informal gatherings. Its spiral geometry creates a continuous sequence of surfaces for sitting, leaning, and play, promoting spontaneous interaction while accommodating multiple ways of occupying the space.
Inspired by the neighbourhood's vivid street art, the structure incorporates colour and graphic interventions that reflect the local visual identity. Its surfaces are also conceived as a canvas for street artists, inviting them to leave their mark and allowing the element to become an evolving part of the urban fabric.
